A Card From Eunice...

Have you ever visited Eunice's blog? If not, please check it out since she has some wonderful creations. I'm constantly inspired by her creations as they are so detail oriented. I can literally spend days looking at her work. This beauty was mailed to me this past week. I honestly couldn't believe she would give this card away! I think if I worked as hard as she did on this card I'd have keep it! I feel so lucky to be the recipient.

I love how she used both Kiyomi and Mei Lin on the same card. I keep forgetting to try that!

Here's the really really cool thing about this card... Love how the tri fold card has circles that line up! I'm pretty sure she did that on her cricut since she is cricut master.

Thank you Eunice for such a pretty card. I will keep this in my Sister Stamps treasure box to remind me of our first blog candy giveaway.

You Gotta Have Friends...

Everyone knows you gotta have friends right? Well, my CBFF (crafty BFF) Debi is such a great friend.. she made all of these Kiyomi samples to help me out. Although we don't have a Design Team, I guess you could say she is my unofficial Design Team Member. I can't believe she mass produced those cute Kiyomi shadow box cards. Most of them are finding their way to a craft store near you that sells our stamps.

Here's a close up of one of my faves...

Thanks Debi! You are the bestest! Take a break now cause the next release will be here before you know it!

RAK from Mama!

Can you imagine my surprise when I saw this beauty arrive in my mailbox last week? I saw this card on Mama's blog shortly after the release and couldn't believe she sent it to me! Thank you so much Mama for sharing this special card with me. I found the sentiment so inspiring and will keep this as a reminder of the importance of following your dreams.

Here's a close up of Mei Lin...

And here's what the card looks like when its open. Now I gotta go study how she did that hair!!! Thanks again Mama!

Matching Sisters

A few months ago, I signed up for a card and tag swap hosted by Joy. Every month, there's a theme for your creations that you swap with other paper crafters and last month's theme was flowers. Since my Sister Stamps came in, I decided to do something with our images and here's what I came up with...

I didn't want them to be too matchy matchy, so I tied them together using the same papers. The gold cardstock by Bazzil is a great alternative to the mirrored gold cardstock that we all love. It matches the gold found in most washi papers, which is why I love using it. Here's a close up of Mei Lin...

And here's a close up of Kiyomi...

You guys are really keeping me busy with Sister Stamps, so I think this will be my last swap for now. We are busy working on the new images for the September release, so stay tuned for some sneak peeks next month.

Kiyomi Christmas

Just thought I'd share this card I made using Kiyomi in a Christmas card. I thought it might be cool to see if I could make Kiyomi trimming a Christmas tree. Fortunately, the size of Kiyomi was perfect to coordinate with this Lawn Fawn pine tree from their Critters in the Woods set. I stamped the tree on washi paper so that it would look more asian since Kiyomi is wearing a kimono. The background paper is also washi/rice paper (not sure which) that has gold flecks in it. I thought it would make a nice background for the image without competing with the washi from the tree too much. Can you come up with other uses for our stamps? If so, we'd love to see them! Email me at sisterstampsllc@gmail.com with a link to your creation. We'll try to link all referals to our Facebook page.

Gelato Break!

Greetings from Milan!

Just taking a small break from sketching out the upcoming images for Sister Stamps and wanted to say "Ciao"!

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you crafters out there that have made Sister Stamps possible. I had no idea a year ago when Jenny asked me to draw a few things for her that we would be making stamps today. Because of everyone's support and encouragement, Jenny was able to put this all together and share the images with you. Yay!

Since I am so far away now, living across the world, I get homesick for the islands and our unique culture. Drawing these images brings me back "home" to when we were all kids and the family was together.

Seeing what everyone is creating with the stamps is even more inspiring and I feel like I'm visiting home when I see such beautiful work. Good job everyone, and thanks again for the warm welcome of Sister Stamps!

Mahalo,
Denise

More Mei Lin..

This has got to be my favorite card so far by Aunty Jan. I just love the layout and flower accents that work so well with the paper! Maybe its cause she used my favorite colors- red and pink. Normally I stay away from using them together since it reminds me of valentines, but for some reason, this one seems to work.

Thanks again Aunty for all the great samples!

Sweet Moments

As promised, here's another sample from Aunty Jan. Have you ever used ribbon as the main print of your card before? I thought this was quite interesting to do. I've never used printed ribbon in this manner, in fact I have a difficult time using printed ribbon, so this really got my attention. Need to remember to try this in the future. It really added a nice accent to the card, without taking anything away from Kiyomi.

We still want to see what everyone does with our images. Please let us know if you've posted a sample on your blog, flicker group, facebook or any other internet resource. We'd love to see what you come up with!

Birthday Greetings

So Aunty Jan got creative again and totally cut out the entire pinwheel from Mei Lin's hand. I love that you can do that and still use the stamp. She looks like she is reaching up to touch the sentiment. Speaking of the sentiment, I just love that she turned the labels Spellbinder die 90 degrees and used it vertically! Thanks again Aunty for another great idea!

A Warm Hello

Did everyone have a nice 4th of July? Sister Stamps has sure been busy over the holiday weekend! While in Honolulu, got to visit family and do a bit of shopping (yeah!). Got to see some of our stamps on the shelves, which was totally exciting! Some stores even sold out! So we are busy packing up more orders so that stores will be stocked up again soon with our images.

While visiting, I got to see Aunty Jan and do some damage at the Rubber Stamp Expo and at our local craft retailers who carry our stamps. We had so much fun and even ran into other Hawaii bloggers while shopping. It was exciting to eavesdrop on customer asking about our stamps and seeing the general excitement about the line.

Aunty never fails to excite... this time she brought me more samples! Thank you Aunty! Since Mei Li's outfit has no pattern, its perfect for stamping directly on washi paper. Aunty then paper pieced the outfit onto Mei Li so no coloring was involved!

Thanks again Aunty for another cute card! Stay tuned for more samples by Aunty Jan.

First Release Blog Candy Winner

The winner of our first release blog candy is Eunice. Congratulations! Please email me at sisterstampsllc@gmail.com by July 4th.

Don't forget to check Debi's blog for her winners as well.

It's Release Day!

It's finally here! Yay! Time to go to your favorite Hawaii retailer to pick up your Sister Stamps! Woo Hoo! We will be posting the winner of our blog candy giveaway soon, so stay tuned for that announcement. For a list of retailers that have our stamps, please check out our sidebar. If you click on each store name, it will take you directly to their site, with more information on where to find them. Here's some goodies I dropped off at each store... sort of a thank you that stores can give to their customers who purchased our stamps. Supplies are limited at each retailer, so hopefully there's enough M&M goodies to go around.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our retailers for giving Sister Stamps such a warm welcome! We couldn't have launched successfully without all of you! I hope to visit the stores soon to see our products on the shelves.. how exciting!

Also wanted to thank my girl Debi and Aunty Jan for coming up with some samples of our stamps to share with everyone! Your help means more to me than you will ever know!

Also need to thank sis Denise for all the awesome designs.. She has been looking at all your comments, and has been totally inspired to come up with more designs with you in mind! Let's just say I think you will be seeing some boys soon!

And thanks to the behind the scenes crew (Akemi and DH) for all your hard work packaging, counting, FB posting, and keeping me calm when I was stressing out! Let's go get some yogurt! Before I end this thank you speech that I honestly didn't plan on writing out here, but it just flowed out of my fingertips onto this post... just wanted to thank Mom & Paul for all your encouragement! Thanks for making this a reality! I think I'm going to take a nap now.. Hopefully when I wake up, you'll have posted some cards featuring our designs. Let me know K? I totally want to see what everyone comes up with! Happy Stamping!
