Introducing Hiilei, Makai, and Kyana!!

I've been enjoying reading everyone's favorite beach memories!  Thank you for sharing them with me.

I have more introductions for you today! Its the last of our images... which is still a lot.... Like I said... I'm trying to make up my absence here by sharing up two releases in one!  Hope you are enjoying them so far.

I decided to make more shaker tags today.  On our first tag is our swimming girl Hiilei. Hiilei and her sister Kyana (see below) are the sisters of my daughter's BFF. They treat my daughter like she's one of their sisters.

Hiilei is the first of our water kid images to share with you today.  I love how her hair is swept back to make it really look like she's underwater.  I wanted the images to be able to interact with our older sea creature images, so they were size to work alone or with our older stamps.  Decided to pair up Hiilei with our blow fish image that was released a couple of years ago.

On a watercolor kick right now, so used my Zig markers again to color up this image.

And here's our old friend Mr. Blowfish!  I think he wants to get together to chill. LOL!  The waves and the seaweed were cut from shimmer sheetz using my Doohickey Dies from the volume 1 set.

Next up is Makai who is named after my nephew.  In Hawaii we often refer to the ocean (Makai) and Mountains (Mauka) for direction instead of using north, south, east west.  I guess when you live on an island, you are surrounded by either the ocean or the mountain, so its easier to figure out where to go base on that.

I love the hair on this guy.  It kinda reminds me of those troll dolls. LOL!  Or those frustrated pencils that had the furry hair on the top.  I'm sure everyone loves to snorkel but me.  LOL!!!  Bet you didn't know that about me.  I think it's actually better if I don't see what living things are around me in the water.  I might freak out!!!   True story, on the last weekend that my husband was on Oahu before he moved to the big island, I took him to Hanauma Bay because he had never gone the entire time he lived on Oahu.

Now, the last time I had gone was when I was a child, so I remembered how cool it was with all the fish.. etc.  But dang!!! Those fish are waaaaaaayyyy bigger now and there are so many of them.  You pretty much couldn't move without touching one of them.   My husband enjoyed every bit of snorkeling while I rode on his back freaking out.  LOL!  Anyway, this tag reminds me of that day.  Maybe my sister needs to draw me an image of a girl freaking out in the water like me. hee hee hee.

Again, paired up Makai with one of our older sea creatures- this time I chose a turtle.  Don't they look like they are talking to each other?

I think he's telling Makai to "Stay Cool".

Finally, we have little Kyana.  I think I mentioned above that she is the sister of Hiilei and sister of my daughter's BFF.  I love this image.  This reminds me a little of me as I like to just float around in those tubes and chill when I go to the beach.

This sentiment and the rest used in today's projects are all from and old PTI set.  The sun and clouds are Lawn Fawn dies.  I love those for the faux stitching!

Again, water colored up the images... Just loving how easy is its compared to Copic coloring.  I guess I needed a Copic break.

OK peeps.. want a chance to win one of these images?  Tell ya how:
1)  Leave a comment on THIS POST by 6/30/15 11:59pm HST; and
2)  Tell me if you prefer the beach or the pool... I don't think I told you mine, but I think you can guess based off the story I shared above! LOL!

  1. Omg those are really cute!!!!! I love the beach! !!! We used to b stationed at Myrtle Beach, SC. Was very fun times. Now we live in the desert of Tucson, AZ. So now I can only use the pool. :-(

  2. Oh my these are all so cute! I love the beach and pools for different reasons. For swimming I generally prefer the backyard pool for peace and quiet versus the beach on a crowded weekend. But nothing beats the beauty of the ocean.

  3. Love your new releases! For me I like the beach. I love snorkeling when I am on vacation. Bring me back good times!!!

  4. Walking for exercise at the beach when the sun is setting is most relaxing. But swimming in the pool has no sand, salt to get into your clothes.

Love your new set of stamps. They are the most darling keikis by far. Keep creating!

  5. Oh my! Love these underwater images with their floating hair! I love the beach - it's so relaxing to hear the ocean as it hits the sand and to watch a sunset is just magical. I'm lucky to live on the west coast to see them all the time!

  6. Love your new releases! They're uber cute! Can't wait to get them.

I love walking in the shallows at the beach but prefer swimming in a pool. I had a traumatic beach experience as a child.

  8. I love those tags!! They r all so cute!! Hi'ilei, makai and kyana r sooooo cute!!! And oh my gosh!! I'm like u where I'd rather not know what's under me in the water if I'm bodyboarding! It reminds me of a time when Christine n her hubs were visiting and I took them to kewalos, and I got totally scared and moved quickly away from them! It was jus the shadows of the reef! Hahah I thought it was a shark!! Hahah Although I do like snorkeling if the fish stay far from me! Hahaha anyways, so I'd prefer goin to the beach! 😎

  9. I love both the beach and the pool a lot. Of course growing up here in Hawaii we grew up pretty much in the water. I do love diving so these images are going to be a great addition to my collection and i know I'm going to get to use them a lot. I really love Makai and how u used them with your sea critter images. That was a great idea. Thanks for another amazing release Jenny and have a great day.

  11. This new release is so stinkin' adorable! As I got older, I prefer the pool. I can't wait to start playing with these new stamps when they are available.

  12. Super cute!!! this release keeps getting better and better!!! can't wait to see them all inked up.
I love the beach more than the pool... i feel the view of the beach is something a pool just cant compete with... without even going into the water you can sit on the sand and just relax and enjoy the ocean breeze.

  13. Hi Jenny, I am absolutely in LOVE with these new stamps! I can't wait to pair them up with the sea critters too... so cute!
I've never swam in the ocean but I do prefer a beach at the lake over the pool. There is just something special about being in the wild outdoors. :)

  14. Eek Hiilei, Makai, and Kyana are all so cute!!! I love that they look like you caught a special moment and froze it. :D I have SO many fun memories at the pool and beach. Me n Penny used to swim all the time and do handstands and flips in the pool and we'd swim like dolphins underwater. Hehehe And like Penny mentioned above Kewalos was the best. Perfect waves and so much fun but she totally scared the crap out of me with the dark shadows. I am so terrified of the little and BIG fishies swimming below me but as much as they freak me out I still have to pick the beach cuz there's just so much fun stuff to do with my hubby n kids- bodyboarding, jumping over the waves, looking for sand crabs, building sandcastles, collecting shells, etc.

  15. Such nice images! I clearly prefer the beach than the pool for "being there" but prefer the pool for actual swimming.

  16. Adorable! I prefer spending time at the beach, but the beach here is too cold to swim. So, pool for swimming.

  17. All the shaker cards that you made turned out really cute. It's great how you incorporated the turtle and the blow from previous releases into your project.

Swimming is not my thing so I don't like swimming in the pool or at the beach, but if I need to choose one I would say I like being at the beach more especially if it's a beach in Hawaii.

  18. I love the beach....just not all the sand that comes out of my kid's swimsuit! I swear they bring the beach home with them each time!!! We have a pool in our complex, but we always end up at the beach! Either way, I love the water! Especially now since it is getting super hot here!

  20. These two are so cute and make me sentimental as my LO is learning to swim. I'm definitely a beach person.

  21. These are so cute! Just love the beach. I don't mind the sand getting everywhere. Growing up, summer days were all at the beach and camping. I'm inspired now to try a shaker card too!

  22. I'm definitely a beach person - well, at least I was in my younger days. Really love all of these new images - really reminds me of my grandchildren.

  23. Yay, look at all those comments!!
Woo Hoo!! Can't say it enough how much I love seeing all the new stamps!! These beautiful tags are wonderful!! and those keiki are all adorable. Pairing them up with the older sea animals is perfect, each one goes so well together. I love the beach, but twice I almost got pulled out by a riptide. And no lifeguard in sight. Once at Makaha and another time here at Manhattan Beach. Needless to say I only go in if the water is calm, otherwise I'm under an umbrella trying not to get burned. lol!
