Thinking of Makai...

Did you miss our Design Team?  I sure have.  It was nice to see everyone back and crafting again!  Be sure to stop by their blogs again today so you can see what other projects they've come up with featuring our new images!!

Here's the link to all of their sites:

And don't forget to leave comments on all their posts!!  We'll be picking winners randomly from each DT's blog/YouTube posts during this release!

On to my project for today... I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to pull off this card.  I have been wanting to make a card like this for awhile now.. I'll admit.. I'm not very good at having a lot of "white space" on my cards, so this was a bit of a stretch for me.  I love how it came out though!! I feel quite accomplished!  Ha ha.

So, I used my Zig Clean Color markers again.. I think this is the BEST craft splurge I've made this year.  Yes, I said it.  I love these pens.  Right now I love them more than my copics!!  Anyway I colored up the entire card using them- yep, even including the part by the sentiment.  Yippee!!

Super duper excited about how that came out. I've been studying how to do that for awhile now... not sure why it has taken me so long to try it!  But I'm so glad I did as it is my new favorite technique!

And didn't forget to pair up Makai with one of our turtles from our turtle set.  Love how you can mix and match them with our old sea creature pals.

Well, hope you enjoyed my project share as much as I had fun making it!! I'm so excited I was able to execute that technique!  I guess I was nervous and just needed a little push to get myself moving.  Now I want to use up the rest of the cards I had embossed earlier.  I gotta go make more with the sentiment on the other side of the card!!!

Don't forget to check out my video on the Sister Stamps channel and the DT's projects for today!!

  1. This is another fun card. (With seeing the cards that you have made it definitely does not look like you have a crafter's block.) You did a fab job on coloring the stamp images. I especially like the technique that you used with the sentiment.

  2. Love how the watercolor technique enhances your cards.good way to introduce embossing. Love these happy images. Have a great summer!

  3. Another amazing card Jenny. I really like the idea of water coloring over the sentiment and I of course love the cool tone colors. So spot on. Also makai is probably my favorite image of this release because he is diving or snorkeling and I love doing that. So amazing card and stamp. Have a great day jenny

  4. I love this card! The colors and that part by the sentiment are so pretty and you used Makai! I think I have a crush on that little cutie. Hahaha This new Sister Stamps release has me so excited!!! XD

  5. Great job! I usually don't like that much white space either, but this card was perfect!!

  6. Love the simplicity of this card. CAS is totally me.

  7. Super cute card Jenny! hehehe you're so funny!! You did an awesome job with the CAS and the white space. I love that you have have an underwater boy and pairing him up with the turtle is perfect! Great card!!

  8. Great video, loved watching your process! These two look like they are off on a grand underwater adventure, LOL!
