Here Comes The Bride!

Welcome to Release #22!  This has been a long awaited release for me.  If you saw yesterday's post, you'll know that we are releasing two images this time, both related to celebrations.. one graduate and one wedding couple!  Yay!  These important images were missing from the Sister Stamps family and now we finally have them!  Yay!

My sister takes care with every image she creates.  I requested a wedding couple awhile ago, but she couldn't get the image just right until now.  She pulls references for inspiration to make sure she gets the kimono and hat just right.  I love how they tuned out.  Here's some samples I've made for some of our retailers.

I decided to color them up all the same, though I've found photos of other variations of the bride's kimono.  I hand drew the pin stripes on the groom's kimono.  It's hard to tell from the photo, but I used a pearl smooch to color in the bride's kimono and hat to give her a satin finish.

Each card is on a black card base with gold cardstock.  Then I cut some satin finish paper and embossed it with this cherry blossom embossing folder that I got from Hanko.  Love it!  Didn't want to make the background too busy as it would take away from the image.

Then I took some of my new Memory box dies Tiffany Frame and and Chesapeake Circle and cut them using gold cardstock.  I like how they frame the image.  You can even place the couple to the side and add your sentiment inside the frame.

Here I tried mounting the couple in a landscape style.  I like how it turned out!

Ok peeps... you know the drill... want a chance to win this image?  If so, all you have to do is:
1.  Leave a comment on THIS POST by April 14, 2014 11:59pm HST; and
2.  Tell me about your most memorable wedding moment (can be your's or any wedding you attended).

  1. Lovely cards! I think I prefer the horizontal one.
My most memorable wedding moment is on my own wedding. We were having our wedding reception on a boat and while going under a bridge, people on the bridge showered us with white roses, that looked exactly like the ones in my wedding bouquet!

  3. These images will be perfect for my 2nd cousin's wedding in June. We got married in the backyard and used my bridesmaids bouquets (they were potted african violets) as decorations.

  4. Beautiful cards, I love what the embossing and gold frame add to the image. We were married in a simple ceremony in our backyard. Everything went well with no memorable mishaps during the ceremony or reception, that came many months later when I found an article in the local newspaper reporting that the Justice of the Peace who married us had been arrested for 'allegedly' abusing his wife in a domestic disturbance call. Oooops. Nothing like adding a mug shot to your wedding album.

  5. My favorite card is the landscape view. My own wedding was most memorable. It started out disasterous. A wedding in the park and it rained and some how the pastor wasn't informed about our wedding and he never showed up. I must say I was blessed - after much finagling - I ended up with a church wedding. The church was decorated for Easter, my wedding vows were done in Hawaiian, and my girlfriend even sang the Hawaiiam Wedding Song. Life is good

  6. All your cards are very elegant. I like all 3 of them but I think I like the landscape one the best.

My wedding the most memorable. We had a our wedding at our church. The entire stage was decorated like a garden. Afterwards we had a reception at the church hall and a banquet in the evening. Before the wedding we took wedding pictures with our family at church and afterwards we took pictures in a garden. We made party favor with an assembly line with some of our friends. We made 600 embossed wooden magnets and put a bow with our names on it.

  8. Oh I'm super excited for this release too. I've already pre-ordered from Hanko. These are beautiful. Denise did a wonderful job with the details and as always you did a beautiful job. Love these colors and details.
The best part about all the weddings I've attended is that I always learn a new tradition. looking fwd to the rest of the previews.

  9. I absolutely love this!!!
Weddings...I actually haven't been to too many of them. I try to avoid weddings because I'm usually the only single one out of all of my friends. I think the most memorable, though, would have to be my best friend's wedding. It was kind of a rush job and her bright ideas were kind of going to make it look like prom so my other best friend and I took over and made it look a little more wedding-like. She cried when she saw what we had done because she didn't think she was going to be able to have an actual wedding reception and not just a big party.

  10. The cards you created are stunning! I love the embossing folder that you used; will have to check in to that. My niece is getting married this summer & this stamp would make a lovely card!

I've been to many weddings over the years & they have all been lovely!
