Make 'n Take This Saturday!

It's been a couple of days since I've been home and I'm still recovering from last week's round of make 'n takes on Oahu!  I can't tell you how much fun it was to meet stampers from around the island and see the excitement of our new release.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by and said hello or participated in the make 'n take.  My fear was that no one would come to my table, but I was pleasantly surprised at the outpouring of love from everyone.  I am truly humbled by the response and appreciate everyone's positive feedback.  I also wanted to thank all of the stores that hosted the make 'n takes!

So, I didn't forget my Hilo stampers!  Thank you for being so patient while I got through the Oahu rounds.  This Saturday, I'll be at Island Scrapbooking from 10am-12pm for more free make 'n takes.  We will be making this gift card holder....

Hope to see you there!

Last Oahu Make 'n Take

Wow!  My Oahu Make 'n Take tour will be almost over by the time you read this post.  My last stop on the "tour" is Stamps and Memories!  Please join me at Stamps and Memories between 11am-1pm for a free make 'n take.  Today we will be making this mini bag using the new Tim Holtz die.  This cute bag is the perfect size for party favors or small treats.  Decorated this one using a Hero Arts background stamp, then adding Perfect Pearls over it to create the background.  Then colored and cut out Mariko and adhered her to the bag.

Here's a closer look at Mariko!

Just wanted to give a shout out to my dim sum gang Kimmie, Mrs. Lum, and Aunty Jan for your help with these make 'n takes!  Thanks for stopping by to keep me company!

And thank you to all of our retailers who hosted our make 'n takes!

Happy 4th of July!

Is everyone ready for Independence Day?  I hope I am since my round of Make 'n Takes will begin tomorrow at Mapunapuna Ben Franklin and then on to Pearl City Ben Franklin.  Please see our sidebar for Make 'n Take schedule.

I decided to make a scrapbook page using these new papers I got. I think its from the Simple Stories line.. I love the colors- which totally reminded me of Independence Day.

Since Kiyoko (from our New Year's images) already had a sparkler, I thought she was a perfect fit for this page!  After coloring her up, I cut her out using a circle wafer die by Sizzix and then cutting the next larger circle in the denim looking paper.  I then made my own rosette using kraft paper by just scoring at 1/4" intervals and connecting the two ends.  I had to hot glue the circles to the rosette so it would stay on.  The title was made using Thickers alphabet stickers on top of a hand cut "ribbon" using the same denim paper.  Layered this over the flip side of one of the papers to show the red gingham and finished it off with some white cardstock punched w/my Martha Stewart doily lace punch.

Here's a close up of Kiyoko.  If you remember from my introductory post, Kiyoko is named after my mother -in-law, which is fitting since we normally spend Independence day at her house since she has a nice view of the fireworks from her patio.  Oh well, guess I'll be missing it this year!  I hope they think of me back home when they are enjoying their dinner over fireworks!

Gotta get ready to go to the airport.  See you soon!

Make'N Take Banner

I'm super excited to go on my make 'n take tour of Oahu soon!  In between all of the Release #8 projects, I couldn't resist making this Sister Stamps banner!  I'm hoping I can make use of it while doing my make 'n takes.  I'm thinking if I don't have a wall behind me, maybe I can hang it from the table?  Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to use it. I even bought clips for the table in hopes that I can clip it on if needed.

So here's what the banner looks like... I decided to go with a traditional red, black and gold look since its very typical asian.

Since there are 12 letters in Sister Stamps, I thought my bunnies would be perfect on the banner!  Each bunny is different so I took photos of each letter to show you each of them. The letters were custom cut for me by Island Scrapbooking- thanks Michele!  All dies used on the banner are from Papertrey Ink.

So do you like all my bunny friends?  I know you already recognize Daba right? Haven't decided yet if the stamping world needs all 12 of these bunnies, so let me know what you think.  Or tell me which ones you are more likely to buy and I'll give it some thought to which ones I'll have made into stamps.

Don't forget to come check me out at any of our upcoming Make 'n Takes!  Even if you don't have time to stay and make a project, please stop by to say hi!  Here's the schedule:

It's Release Day!

Happy Birthday To Us!  Yay!  We made it to our first birthday and Release #8!   Just wanted to thank all of our guest design team members for coming back to help us out along with our new friends Linda & Cami for joining us on this journey.  You guys are the best!

Have one last project to share with you today....  Its another card from Aunty Jan that I thought was pretty neat.  She added a piece of cardstock to hold the gift card and cut slits on either side so she could insert a ribbon.  The ribbon goes around to the back of the card but the bow is tied on the inside of the card.

I thought the added circles were pretty cool too since it matched the packaging on the gift.  Leave it to Aunty to figure out how to coordinate the card to the image.  Here's the inside of the card when you open it up.

Well, thank you all for joining us for this release! We know we are still here because of all of you out there, so a big mahalo and arigato to all of you Sister Stamps fans.  If you are on Oahu this coming week, please stop by one of the make 'n takes and say hi!  And a BIG Arigato to our guest DT Sisters who came back to help us celebrate!  Please check out their projects today and give them some love!  Your next stop is Debi's blog... Enjoy!
