Year of the Tiger

Any Tigers out there?  Geez, my family is jam packed with Tigers!!  I have my Aunty, my brother, and two cousins, and a second cousin who are all Tigers.  Part of me wishes I were a tiger too.... only because tigers look so much cooler on merchandise!

Since my brother is in my immediate family, I decided to add him to my layout.  I couldn't find any baby pictures of him, so I went with this one.. I think it's so funny!  I never know what to buy him so one year I bought him the Iron Chef's hat and apron!  He thinks he's the best cook in our family- I'm pretty sure he is too, so that's why I gave him that set.

I decided to try something a little different this time... Awhile back Debi made a wall scroll similar to the type you find in Japan.  Her's was so cute using our images. I copied her idea and made a mini one out of some bamboo skewers and vellum. Stamped "perseverance" on top and added some gold twine to the top.  Secured it to the layout using a mini brad.  I like how the tiger stands out cause he's bright orange.  Here's a better look at the Tiger..

Do you want to win this Tiger cub?  Here's all you have to do:
1)  Leave a comment on THIS POST by 07/31/13 11:59pm HST; and
2) Tell me what is the funniest gift you ever gave someone?!

  1. This tiger is soooo cute! Makes me think of the cartoon "the aristocats"...
The funniest gift I ever made were slippers shaped as Homer Simpson's head, the opening to the feet being in the mouth... Apparently, they were both fun and comfortable...

  2. I'm not a real creative gift giver, so I'm not sure what is the funniest (or funnest) gift I've given. Really looking forward to getting this little tiger as I'm a tiger and he's just soooo cute! :)

  3. This tiger is such a cutie! I don't remember any funny gifts, I just remember funny cards. I always send my nephew a card with an inside joke in it and he always gets a kick out of them. He's 9:)

  5. I love the character of this tiger ~ it's like he's saying, "aren't I cute?". I'm not very creative in the gift giving area, so I don't think I gave any "funny" gifts.

  8. Love this tiger stamp and will definitely add it to my collection. I have a lot of tigers in my family, too (me, my younger son, my SIL, my FIL).
I've never really given any funny gifts... more practical (boring) or something the person asked for. I guess I'm not a very creative gift-giver! ;)

  11. Cute scroll idea. Love the tiger. The funniest gift I gave to someone was a collage picture in a frame.

  12. Lovely layout you made and the new Zodiac release is again just wonderful.
The funnies thing I gave to my hubbie was and Ipad, but not a real one. He wanted one and in Dutch we say Ipad too but I translated into an EiPet (Ei=egg, Pet=baseball cap). SO I put the egg and cap in the Ipad box, wrapped it up and gave it to him....boy did we laugh...the whole family was almost in tears of laughing and it story still pops up so now and then.

  13. That tiger is so cute! I always put a lot of thoughts on gifts, so it's always something that I know the person would love. Don't think I ever give funny one, though. Funny card, yes. Gift, no.
