Do you own a pet? I have a doggie named Kiki. It really is true what they say about dogs.. they are loyal and truly man's best friend. All she wants is to have everyone at home and someone to snuggle with.
I had Kiki in mind when I made this card. This doggie is actually part of our Chinese Zodiac set, but as you can see, you can use him for other types of projects.. not just for Chinese New Year. Although Kiki doesn't look like this dog, he reminds me of her since he looks like he is just waiting for his master to come home.
Keeping this in mind, I used my window die by Memory Box and created a fake window for the doggie to peek out of. I used some lace to make curtains on the inside and added some acetate behind the window to make it look more realistic.
I also used the Memory Box flower box. I've been meaning to use this die for awhile now to create a window scene, so I thought this was my opportunity to use it. I love how you can pop out the flower box and add in some flowers to make it look even more realistic!
Below the window, I added a Doohickey Dies fence- this is my favorite fence die! I love that it has hearts cut out at the top of each board. After I added the fence, I glued on some flowers and a vine along the left side of the card.
To finish it off, I added some alphas by My Little Shoebox for the title... Also used my Doodlebug and Kaisercraft pearls.
If you would like the chance of winning our Year of the Dog stamp just do the following:

Aww...so cute! Love the pretty lace curtains and all the pretty flowers...what a sweet idea for a missing you card! I can hardly wait to get home cuz I miss my doggie too!
ReplyDeleteThis card is awesome ... just love the dog; his expression is so friendly & eager. It just lifts up your spirits when you see him!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! I love this! I've had this cute puppy on my must have list for a while now but you've enabled me to want that window die now too, LOL!
ReplyDeleteAs for four legged family members, I've got two. My Yorkie, Duke, thinks he is Mr. Intimidation when the UPS comes but our driver always wins him over with a treat... heck, anyone can win him over with a treat, LOL. And my cat, Oreo, is a total love who has his own corner on my crafty desk that he likes to hang out on whenever I am coloring and crafting. I can't imagine my life without either of them. :)
Such a cute card. Especially loving the flowerbox with flowers! I have fishes for pets and they're so cute especially since they all have different personalities and quirks.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!! Love how dainty your card is! And that cute doggie! That has to be the cutest doggie stamp ever! I don't have any pets though. Tfs!
ReplyDeleteOMG this is soooo Adorable!!!!! Yes I have a basset hound!!! Lately he has been nothing but TROUBLE but I could not imagine not having him around! He is my shadow when I am home and loves to be where ever I am! He is always up for a walk and is very playful. Not a lazy basset at all. The best part you can take him for a walk and he will never pee or poop!!! So no need to carry a stinky poop bag around! He waits till he gets home and in his own back yard!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all the details on this card! I have a dog named Odie and she has such a distinctive and funny personality. She knows when people comment on what a pretty dog she is and she stops and preens. It's pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteEver since Kenichi, I've been waiting for another doggie stamp! I love dogs and have a dog as a pet. :)
ReplyDeleteThis card is adorable! Thank you for adding the photos showing all of the details. No pets here, but maybe all of the "year" animals can be my pets, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat dog is adorable! It reminds me of a shiba which is our "dream dog". It just became a "must have" stamp for me! Your card is so cute, too!
ReplyDeleteThis card and stamp are so adorable! I don't actually have any pets at the moment, but my husband has a salt water reef tank. I love looking at the corals, shrimp and clown fish. It reminds me of how much I miss tropical destinations and diving reefs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and happy Miss You card! Adorable image, and such a great layout! We aren't able to have a full-time pet here, but they agreed to letting us have a 'visitor', so my Mom's little dog stays with us at times. lol Thankfully she's such a good little girl. :) hugs, Kimberly
ReplyDeleteMy parents have a cat named Jellybean, but secretly, I'm more in love with my fiance's parents' cat Charlie. Charlie is a mix manx (tail-less) and Maine coon which makes her fat, round and AWESOME. She's cuddly and sweet and she really loves to lick Chris' hair (?!?!) - weird right?
ReplyDeleteWe've wanted a cat for a really long time but haven't been able to get one since we keep saying we're going to move soon. Now we're moving back to the Mainland in the summer so hopefully we'll have a cat to call our own! (but I guess that means I'll need to find some other way to get my Sister Stamp fix than trotting down to Island Scrapbooking)
